Spring/Fall

Spring and fall are ideal getaway times in Haliburton. Whether it is hiking the woods with trilliums lining the path or enjoying the brilliant fall colours, both seasons offer a special break from a busy life. Spring also brings great fishing, golf and maple syrup festivals. Fall has the Studio Art Tour, Hike Haliburton Festival and Ogopogo campfires on the crisp autumn nights.

Couples Getaway
Looking for a great couples getaway destination – Ogopogo is it! Whether you are looking just to relax or to be active in the outdoors, we can make the break a special one. Our objective is to help you with arrangements and information so you will enjoy the diversity of what Haliburton has to offer.
Spa Service and Gourmet Dining
To complement that special getaway, we offer spa services provided inside your cottage. Both relaxation and esthetic services are available. Gourmet dinners can also be delivered to your cottage. Please see menus and a more complete description under Spa Service and Gourmet Dinners.
Fishing, Boating and Canoeing
Mountain Lake is a lake trout lake and is great for bass fishing in season. Spring fishing is particularly good. Mountain Lake also flows directly into Horseshoe Lake and then into the Gull River at the Minden White Water Preserve. Ogopogo is the only Resort with direct water access to the Preserve. The area is very scenic – great for a canoe-hike combination.
Spring Flowers at Ogopogo
The gardens of Ogopogo come alive in the Spring. Gardens are scattered throughout the property and bloom from the crocuses in the Spring. Trilliums line the nearby hiking trails
Hiking and Biking
The Haliburton Highlands are known for hiking and biking trails. The Hike Haliburton Festival occurs each October with guided hikes to the most scenic areas. If you enjoy mountain biking, there are a number of trails in the area from novice to expert. Algonquin Park is also a pretty one-hour drive away.

Area Activities
Spring activities in the area include Maple Syrup festivals in many of the nearby towns and trips to the sugar bush. The five nearby golf courses open taking advantage of the warm days. The Artist’s Studio Tour and the Hike Haliburton Festival highlight the Fall season. With all of this are interesting antique stores, artist’s studios, museums, fine restaurants and the beauty of the Haliburton Highlands.
