Summer
In the heart of lake country, Ogopogo Resort is ideal for a couples or family based summer vacation. We have also seen a growing trend for grandparents to vacation with their grandchildren giving Mom and Dad a break and creating special memories. We have created an environment that is both safe and relaxing for all. Swim, play in the sand, fish, canoe or kayak, go tubing and water-skiing and relax all on-site. Five golf courses are within 15 minutes not to mention hiking and biking trails, live theatre, local artists studios, and white water kayaking.
Sand Beach and Swimming Ogopogo has a sand beach with roped off swim area for young and older alike to enjoy the crystal clear waters of Mountain Lake. Our dock is great for swimmers looking for deep water.

| Canoeing, Kayaking, Paddleboats and Fishing Boats Our small navy of boats is available for the use of our guests. There is no charge for our non-motorized craft and fishing boat rentals are available on a daily or weekly basis.
| | There is a safe children’s play area featuring Fort Ogopogo and tons of sand.
| |
| Fishing Mountain Lake has great bass and lake trout fishing. The 14 lb. lake trout shown in the photo was caught in front of the Resort in May 05.
| Heated Swimming Pool For those who like an alternative to the lake, we have a lovely heated pool open from May 24 weekend until well into September. With flower gardens at the edge and a lounge deck, it is a great way to wile away the afternoon.

| Golf Within 15 minutes, there are five golf courses for the enthusiast. Click here for a description.

Hiking and Biking Haliburton County boasts some great trails for hiking and biking whether it is a casual walk or a more serious adventure. Most trails are separate for hikers and bikes. Ogopogo has mountain bikes available for adults to rent and your hosts have prepared self-guided tours of the scenic backroads near the resort.

| Area Activities Haliburton County has a seemingly endless list of activities in the summer. Ask us about the Highlands Summer Festival live theatre and the Kinmount theatres. Visit artists’ studios, antique shops, a miniature pioneer village, and the world’s biggest general store! Algonquin Park and the Haliburton Forest Wolf Center are only a short drive away. |
